$10,000 Reward offered by WZTV Fox 17 for info on robbery/shooting of Erika Lathon

          Sinclair Television of Nashville, Inc. d/b/a WZTV Fox 17 (“FOX 17”) is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for Thursday night’s robbery/shooting of WZTV Fox 17 television news reporter Erika Lathon after she withdrew cash from the Bank of America ATM at 1634 Church Street.

          Lathon was approached by the gunman at 11:45 p.m.  He demanded cash.  She complied.  The robber, who was dressed in all black and wore a mask, fired one time into Lathon’s car and fled on foot.  She drove herself to a nearby hospital where she was treated and released for a gunshot wound to the arm.

          Anyone with information that can assist West Precinct detectives in identifying the suspect is urged to contact Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME. Dirt Bike theft from 501 Heritage Drive, Madison

  On April 20th, 2012, the victim purchased a 2011 Suzuki Motorcycle DRZ400S white in color.  He had the motorcycle in the back of his 1997 Ford F150 white pickup truck when he went to the Clerk’s Office at 501 Heritage Drive, corner of Old Hickory Blvd, in order to register it.  While the victim was inside registering the motorcycle, a male white in his late 30’s, thin build took the motorcycle off the truck and drove away.  This theft occurred between 2:45pm and 3:15pm.  The victim had the motorcycle for ONLY about three hours when it was stolen.  Attached is a picture of the actual motorcycle.

Murder of Terry L Davis on Moorewood Ct 12/03/11

     On December 3rd, 2011 at approximately 09:30 pm Terry Lajuan Davis was standing at the bus stop at Moorewood Court and Moorewood Drive.  While waiting for the MTA bus, two unknown suspects approached the victim from behind a home on Moorewood Court.  The suspects started shooting at the victim and shot him in the back.  The victim was left to die on the corner as the suspects fled the area on foot.  Witnesses stated they saw two male blacks with black hoodies running from the scene.  One of the suspects is described as being very tall, approximately 6ft 2in, thin with his hair in shoulder length dreads.

     Police were called to the scene after someone noticed the victim lying on the ground.  Police and ambulance personnel responded to the scene but the victim had already died from his wounds.

     The Metro Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in locating the persons responsible for this murder.  The victim was wearing a black San Antonio Spurs baseball cap with a gray bill, gray hoodie, black jeans, and black tennis shoes with white stripes.  He was holding a white plastic Wal-Mart bag at the time of his murder.

Gene Brodie murder on Dr D B Todd Jr Blvd 06/14/2011

     On June 14th, 2011 at approximately 01:40 am the Metro Police received a call to Dr. D.B. Todd Jr. Blvd. near Albion St. regarding a man who had been shot and was found on the sidewalk.  Police personnel arrived at the scene to find that the victim had died as a result of a gunshot wound. 

     Shortly before the victim was shot, Gene Brodie was seen on surveillance video walking down the street with another person.  Several vehicles were seen driving by the two as they continued walking on Dr. D.B. Todd Jr. Blvd.  A few moments later, the suspect was seen running from the location.  The victim was found on the sidewalk by a passerby who had called the police. 

     The Metro Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in locating the person responsible for this murder.  Since there were several vehicles going by at the time the suspect was seen with the victim, someone would be able to recognize the suspect.  The victim was using crutches at the time because of his handicap; his right leg below the knee was gone.  Gene was wearing a dark baseball cap, green short sleeve shirt with "CAMP" on the front, and light colored blue jeans with the right pant leg pinned up from the knee.

Reginald Collier Murder on Wheless St

     On July 10th, at approximately 02:00 am the police received a call to 1208 Wheless Street regarding a man who had been shot and was not breathing.  The ambulance personnel arrived at the scene to find the victim’s mother attempting CPR.  The victim sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was transported to Vanderbilt Hospital.  The victim was pronounced deceased at the hospital.  There were reports of several gun shots being heard and shortly afterwards, the victim was found lying on the front porch.

Fatal accident in the 4000 block of Murfreesboro Pk

  On Friday, November 11, 2011 at approximately 10:20 a.m. police responded to a motor vehicle crash in the 4000 block of Murfreesboro Pike near Old Hickory Blvd. in the Antioch area.  The crash involved a black Lexus and a DARK BLUE CHEVY IMPALA (possibly a 2005 model).  The Chevy Impala fled the scene and the driver of the Lexus was pronounced deceased on the scene.  Witnesses state the Chevy Impala appeared to have a bad paint job or possibly navy blue primer on the vehicle.  The vehicle should have damage along the entire passenger side.

Community's Assistance Requested to Locate Hit & Run SUV

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

 

          Crash investigators are asking for the community’s assistance in locating the older model light-colored SUV that struck and critically injured a pedestrian on Capitol View Avenue between Alhambra Circle and Jones Avenue in East Nashville on the night of November 3rd.

          The investigation shows that the SUV, probably a Ford Explorer, was traveling east on Capitol View Avenue when it struck a man who was walking on the edge of the roadway.  A witness reported that the SUV struck the pedestrian, swerved to the left and continued on.  The vehicle sustained a broken headlight and likely additional moderate damage to the front passenger side.

          The pedestrian remains in critical condition at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Fatal Hit and Run on Donelson Pike

On November 06, 2009 at 2113 hrs, officers responded to a one car  pedestrian collision on Donelson Pk near the intersection of Royal Prkwy. Witnesses state that a large dark color SUV, possibly a Chevy Suburban or Cadillac Escalade, was North bound on Donelson Pk when it struck Larry W. Stacy as he was attempting to cross Donelson Pk from Shoney`s. Stacy was struck in the inside north bound lane. Stacy came to rest approximately 20 to 30 yards from the point of impact. Stacy was pronounced dead on the scene. The driver of the SUV fled the scene North on Donelson Pk. There was a witness that stated the SUV drove out of the RaceWay gas station, just prior to impact, in a reckless manner. Chaplin Davidson was called to the scene to attempt to find the next of kin but was unable to do so. Stacy was not using the cross walk that was located approximately 50 yards from where he was struck. Investigators have contacted the RaceWay gas station regarding their video surveillance cameras and they are hopeful that the suspects vehicle was captured on tape. It was reported by on scene officers that they were familiar with the victim from past arrest and they believed he was homeless.

Tameka Vines Murder on Magnolia Road

ON WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 7TH 2007 AT APPROXIMATELY 8:00 IN THE MORNING, TAMEKA VINES 6 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER WENT TO WAKE HER MOTHER UP TO START THEIR DAY BUT FOUND HER MOTHER DEAD IN HER BED.  SHE AND HER SISTER RAN TO A NEIGHBORS HOUSE TO CALL POLICE.  DETECTIVES WERE ABLE TO DETERMINE THAT SOMEONE CAME TO TAMEKAS HOME ABOUT THREE THAT MORNING AND KNOCKED ON THE DOOR.  HER 11 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER WOKE UP WHEN SHE HEARD THE KNOCK AND TOLD HER MOTHER THAT SOMEONE WAS AT THE DOOR.  THE CHILD WENT BACK TO BED AND SLEPT UNTIL HER MOTHER WAS FOUND DEAD BY HER SISTER LATER THAT MORNING.

 

DETECTIVES ARE ASKING FOR THE PUBLICS HELP IN FINDING OUT WHO KILLED TAMEKA VINES IN THE 1300 BLOCK OF MAGNOLIA ROAD OF THE MDHA VINE HILL DEVELOPMENT IN SOUTH NASHVILLE.  THEY HOPE THAT SOMEONE WILL REMEMBER SEEING A PERSON AT THE DOOR OF THE HOME OR A CAR THAT MAY HAVE BEEN PARKED OUT FRONT.

ON SUNDAY, JANUARY 7, 2007 AT ABOUT FIVE THIRTY IN THE MORNING,THE BODY OF THIRTY ONE YEAR OLD NAKIA BAKER WAS FOUND LYING ON THE GROUND, NEXT TO HIS CAR, IN THE PARKING LOT OF CLUB ADVENTURA & BILLARDS AT 3312-B-NOLENSVILLE ROAD.  THIS CLUB IS AN AFTER HOURS CLUB THAT IS FREQUENTED BY MEN WHO DRESS IN WOMENS CLOTHING.  AT THE TIME MR. BAKER WAS FOUND HE WAS DRESSED AS A WOMAN. POLICE DO NOT KNOW IF THAT IS THE REASON WHY HE WAS KILLED OR IF IT CONTRIBUTED TO HIS DEATH. WITNESSES TOLD OFFICERS THAT MR. BAKER HAD BEEN SOCIALIZING INSIDE THE CLUB UNTIL HE LEFT TO WALK TO HIS CAR.

 

MR. BAKERS CAR WAS A BLUE OLDSMOBILE INTRIGUE THAT HAD BODY DAMAGE TO THE FRONT OF THE CAR. IT HAD A BLACK LIGHT HOOKED UP TO ILLUMINATE THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT. DETECTIVES WOULD LIKE ANYONE WHO MAY HAVE SEEN NAKIA BAKER TALKING TO SOMEONE BY HIS CAR TO CALL CRIME STOPPERS AND SHARE WHAT THEY SAW.

 

MR. BAKER WAS A RESIDENT OF MURFREESBORO TENNESSEE BUT CAME TO NASHVILLE FREQUENTLY TO SOCIALIZE AND VISIT WITH HIS FRIENDS.
